Vintage Review

You’ve got to hand it to Old School Labs – their products stands out.

In a market filled with samey Burnatrons and Meltasaurs, Vintage Burn‘s visual throwback to when you would blitz those fondue calories by doing The Hustle down the disco, is original.

Once you got someone’s attention though you’ve got to make it count. That’s where the formula comes in.

In fact the makers go as far as to say Vintage Burn is the first fat burner ever to help you cut weight while holding on to your muscle mass. Uhhh, are you sure, troops?

I’ve been reviewing these things for a long time now. That boast is a bit like a guy at work announcing he’s the first guy at work to wear pants to an office full of people wearing pants.

He’s not, but it’s probably best just to smile, nod and move past it in case he’s dangerous as well as deluded.

Vintage Burn

In a very vintage move, all the ingredients are there on the label along with their dosages. That’s what it was like in the old days, people would go out and leave their formulas unlocked. They trusted each other. Not like the disrespectful proprietary blends of today.

How Does It Work?

At a Glance

  • Green tea to boost thermogenesis

The Scores

The Scores
Ingredients
6/10

As it turns out the substances can’t match the style. There’s a couple of greens we’re pleased to see, green tea (330mg) and green coffee bean (270mg) but after that there are questions for this recipe. Different questions mind you.

Like couldn’t the caffeine (150mg) have been a little stronger? Or is olive leaf really the best choice? Maybe, hasn’t Garcinia Cambogia been proven kind of a bust? Plus, what the hell are raspberry ketones (200mg) doing here?! Until Vintage Burn is a little more convincing, it only gets a slightly above average score.

Price
5/10

We’ve already told you how much we love the visual design of Vintage Burn, and there are some industries where you pay big bucks for that. Fashion perhaps.

But this ain’t fashion and you need the pills to justify the bills. As we’ve just seen, Vintage Burn comes up short. At nearly $50 this product isn’t much shy of the best burners on the market, so it’s worth digging a little deeper for a lot better

Testimonials
5/10

Overall Vintage Burn has incredibly strong reviews on Amazon. 4.5 stars based on upwards of 4000 pieces of feedback. Wow. Perfect ten then?

Well, not quite. We’re always going to have an issue with retail site comments. Most are not nearly detailed enough, they’re too easy to fake and in this case Vintage Burn actively promote Amazon on their site. We’re not saying there’s definitely some back scratching going on, but maybe. Far better is in-depth quality over quantity when it comes to testimonials.

Trustworthiness
7/10

The only place where Vintage Burn falls down on trust is trying to suggest that this formula is the very best you can do as far as natural fat burning.

It’s safely manufactured in line with GMP rules and doesn’t try to conceal anything with proprietary blends, but still tries to palm you off with 1 or 2 dud components. Not the worst offender we’ve seen by any means but still not being entirely straight with you.

Company
9/10

Formula slip-ups apart, Old School Labs are a stylish professional and trustworthy operation. They have an expanding range of supplements including fat burners, T boosters and sleep aids. They offer a money back guarantee and discounts for students and the military. No worries here.

How Do I Take It?

We can only assume that 2 caps twice a day, which Vintage Burn recommends, is the most retro serving schedule. Because it certainly isn’t the best.

The thing is, just twice a day leaves gaps when your fat burner should be working but is weakened or gone completely. Chances are you’re dedicating all your time to burning fat, why shouldn’t your supplement match that intensity?

You’re supposed to take both servings 10 minutes before meals. Well most people have at least 3 meals a day, why not throw a third serving in there to fill in those blanks.

Any Vintage Burn Side Effects?

Always allowing for individual allergies of course, we can’t see any ingredients here which at this strength would cause issues.

Where Can I Get It?

Vintage Burn is available from Amazon.com for $47.

Ingredients - In Detail

Green Tea

Green Tea

Key to any fat burner’s effectiveness is it's thermogenic profile and they don’t come much more impressive than this powerful antioxidant. Green Tea’s catechins stimulate a fat burning hormone called norepinephrine, which naturally raises the body temperature, vastly increasing the number of calories burnt.

Green Coffee Bean

Green Coffee Bean

Green coffee bean, there in a strong enough amount, can be a strong addition to any fat burner. The chlorogenic acid in this ingredient breaks down glucose in the liver before it can be used as energy and starved of a source, the body starts chucking those pesky hard to shift fat stores in the furnace.

Raspberry Ketones

Raspberry Ketones

A fad ingredient and a total waste. Caused a real stir in the fat burning world for a short time after being featured on Dr Oz’s show as the next big thing, but in reality has only managed results in lab rats at absolutely huge doses. If these amounts were to be scaled up for humans we would need multiple grams.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15862604

Olive Leaf

Olive Leaf

Olive leaf has a few uses. It seems to be good for reducing inflammation and may help naturally control blood pressure. To date though the only fat loss qualities that have been demostrated were in lab rats.

Very few human trials have been carried out and those that have sho no influence on fat loss

Caffeine / Caffeine Anhydrous

Caffeine / Caffeine Anhydrous

The first burner regular. Caffeine is a great choice for two reasons; firstly it speeds up your metabolism, burning through far more fat, and secondly it provides energy to help you avoid the slumps that normally come with a low calorie diet.

The 'Anhydrous' part refers to the fact that the water is removed to leave a white, crystalline powder with concentrated potency.

Bacopa Monnieri

Bacopa Monnieri

In a fat loss context Bacopa Monnieri has been shown to raise Thyroid Hormone T4 levels in people with an underactive thyroid, causing them to lose weight. Little research has been done on healthy individuals though

Garcinia Cambogia

Garcinia Cambogia

The Hydroxycitric Acid in Garcinia Cambogia has had some success in clinical trials suppressing the enzyme which dictates how much fat is drawn from carbohydrate, but thus far mainly in rats. However we cannot support this as an ingredient. Research has shown that hepatotoxicity can occur and the ingredient is an increasingly common source of this. This document from the National Institutes of Health casts doubt on it's effectiveness as an effective fat burner.

Chrysin

We've come across this flavanoid before reviewing, but rarely in fat burners. This is because it's been shown to boost testosterone in lab rats. Now T is a fat burner in its own right so you might think this makes sense, but unfortunately T only rises when it's injected into the testicles. Oral supplementing is ineffective.

As most burners don't have a syringe and half of burner users don't have testicles, this is a bit of a waste.

Anything Missing?

There a couple of things Vintage Burn could use to bring it into the 21st century. B vitamins would boost the energy profile for example. Something like cayenne pepper could crank up the heat and strengthen thermogenesis. More help to battle hunger pangs required too.

Overall

At the end of the day Vintage Burn isn’t terrible, but it still looks better than it performs.

So we get they’re trying to push the idea of getting to your goal with vintage style, like an old Jaguar E-Type, but in reality this product is probably closer to using one of these vintage numbers:
