You know the scenes in movies, where the main character thinks they spot someone important in a crowd but when they catch them it’s a lookalike? If ever there was a supplement version of that, it’s BurnerTek.
The fat burner, from makers TEK Naturals is eerily similar in almost every way to Instant Knockout from Roar Ambition. We can see the appeal of sticking close to Instant Knockout, it’s been our number one natural burner since this site launched. That takes some doing.
But this can only be good right? After all, if it’s a carbon copy of the best, that’s just twice the quality for us, the customer, no?
Well in theory, sure, but thanks to BurnerTek also following Instant Knockout’s lead by avoiding proprietary blends, we can find the differences in the detail.
‘Pff, details!’ I hear you cry, ‘If it’s the same thing, what difference will a few details make? Well…
Exactly. Shall we continue?
A closer look at the formula shows that they’re not exactly the same. It has all the brilliant choices we associate with Instant Knockout – green tea, green coffee bean, cayenne pepper, caffeine etc – but BurnerTek actually has a few added ingredients. Bonus!
Well that all depends on what they are. BurnerTek has added L-Carnitine to boost energy, the problem being the amount in there is way below an active dose. That makes it effectively just wasted space.
Likewise the clinical evidence for Garcina Cambogia is pretty weak, so it feels like an extra for extras sake. Turmeric too isn’t a bad choice, but it’s closer to filler than killer.
BurnerTek obviously feels it is a match for Instant Knockout and can charge to reflect that. Since you’re getting a couple more ingredients you might even argue BurnerTek is worth the hefty cost. Remember though, the extra components in this don’t contribute anything worthwhile. So you’re not gaining quality, you’re just losing focus.
Burner Tek is available from a variety of retailers so there is the chance to shop around and check for discounts but bizarrely it is actually more expensive on other non-official sites.
BurnerTek does have an impressive looking testimonial layout on the official website. That lifts it above the detail-free faceless users on Amazon … but we still think it could be better.
Why? Because obviously reviews on the official site are going to be positive. It’s the depth of the review that allows us to determine it’s authenticity.
So where BurnerTek has pictures of people with their full names and written statements, they could have before and after body shots and individual videos. They also don’t have the sheer number of these extensive user reviews that Instant Knockout has.
There’s no question of BurnerTek not being safe, it’s made in the U.S with the GMP stamp of approval. It also has full details of the formula on the label and a main body of really strong ingredients.
However there are a few things which studies tell us really bring nothing to the table. They’re basically a sneaky attempt to give BurnerTek the edge on … oh gosh I wonder who? If you’re paying a lot of money you want to know that everything is worth its inclusion.
Imagine a bar where they sell your favorite beer but add water for you free of charge. Isn’t that nice of them?
Tek Naturals is a pretty impressive supplement company, with a modest but popular range of products. Based in California they produce TestoTek for T, BurnerTek for weight loss and MaleTek for the bedroom. They prefer to improve existing products rather than expand the range.
It’s true they might be copying successful formulas in the past but at least they’re peeking over all the right shoulders. The addition of a few ingredients purely to fill out products and separate themselves from other successful products is the only reason we’ve not given full marks.
The serving schedule is one of the few areas where BurnerTek didn’t pay attention to Instant Knockout. Maybe they should have.
1 serving of 3 capsules is not great. It sounds solid but in a weird way the number of caps are irrelevant, it’s all about the servings.
If they think 1 serving will sustain BurnerTek’s active effects all day,, they’re dreaming.
The only issue (as with all fat burners containing caffeine) is the caffeine levels. They should be fine as long as you are not also drinking a lot of coffee or other caffeinated drinks.
L-Carnitine can also cause stomach upset and heartburn in some.
You can get TekBurner from the offial website for $59.99
Key to any fat burner’s effectiveness is it's thermogenic profile and they don’t come much more impressive than this powerful antioxidant. Green Tea’s catechins stimulate a fat burning hormone called norepinephrine, which naturally raises the body temperature, vastly increasing the number of calories burnt.
Green coffee bean, there in a strong enough amount, can be a strong addition to any fat burner. The chlorogenic acid in this ingredient breaks down glucose in the liver before it can be used as energy and starved of a source, the body starts chucking those pesky hard to shift fat stores in the furnace.
The first burner regular. Caffeine is a great choice for two reasons; firstly it speeds up your metabolism, burning through far more fat, and secondly it provides energy to help you avoid the slumps that normally come with a low calorie diet.
The 'Anhydrous' part refers to the fact that the water is removed to leave a white, crystalline powder with concentrated potency.
A good choice for a fat burner not only for it potent antioxidant qualities but its noted metabolism boosting effects. B6 also promotes muscle growth by increasing the absorption of vital amino acids and proteins and muscles equal less body fat.
An effective energy booster which also helps speed up the metabolism and encourage muscle growth through the efficient processing of essential proteins.
Cayenne is one of the best natural ways of starting thermogenesis in the body. The capsaicin in this ingredient melts away extra calories by heating the body up, then expends more again as our system tries to cool back down.
Chromium is an essential mineral, found in green leafy amongst other places, which has a role in regulating blood sugars and balancing insulin. Though there's not much evidence it contributes directly to weight loss, the influence on blood sugars means it can help to contol appetite and lower food intake.
An effective natural appetite suppressant which owing to its high fibre contentment swells in the stomach, making the user feel fuller sooner and less inclined to get hungry for longer.
Glucommanan is the only ingredient which is allowed to be marketed in the UK as a 'proven appetite suppressant'. So in other words ... it works.
L-Carnitine has consistently proved in scientific studies that it aids the efficient transfer of fatty acids into useable energy, meaning less excess gets stored. The overall impact this has on weight loss had come in for some question of late, but no one’s arguing it’ll give you a sizeable energy boost which can be put to good use in the gym.
The Hydroxycitric Acid in Garcinia Cambogia has had some success in clinical trials suppressing the enzyme which dictates how much fat is drawn from carbohydrate, but thus far mainly in rats. Human studies have been considerably less promising but research continues.
Apart from any subtlety in … taking inspiration from Instant Knockout, Burner Tek has less Glucomannan than we’d like which will hurt its ability to control appetite effectively.
Maybe you’re still not convinced. How can something which is almost the same as the original, but with a couple of things added be worse? Hmm…
BurnerTek has a core of good choices but in order to best trim the fat from your body it needs to trim some excess from its recipe.
