As most people – apart from everyone involved in the Police Academy movie series – would agree, quality is better than quantity.
This certainly appears to be the attitude of supplement company Jacked Factory, whose new fat burner, Burn-XT has just 5 active ingredients. Honestly that feels like a low number to us, but at the end of the day the only figure we’re interested in is yours.
If Burn-XT can help you achieve the kind of physique you’re working towards and they’re cutting excess weight instead of costs, then they can put as many or as few components in there as they want.
It’s a strong seller on Amazon and we’ve had a few questions about it land in our inbox recently, probably thanks to its ‘3 stage thermogenic formula’ promising to:
So we already know Burn-XT is light on quantity but is it short changing us on that all-important quality?
At least we’ll be playing with a full deck information wise. As we’ve seen with other Jacked Factory reviews there are no proprietary blends. Everything you need to know is right there on the label, ingredients and individual dose.
Every ingredient in this formula is bringing something to the table, it’s just some are not bringing enough, and with only 5 choices there are a few empty seats at that table.
The most impressive choice is green tea. It’s a proven performer and the amount is pretty much spot on. Caffeine is also well dosed, many brands go way over the top with that. Cayenne pepper and aceytl-L-carnitine are unfortunately falling a ways short of a useful amount however.
Also for a burner that boasts help controlling appetite, we’re not seeing a whole lot here specifically to do that.
Anything under $30 for a burner of this sort – unless it’s just utterly god awful – is pretty reasonable. But we wouldn’t class this price as a true value buy unless it was a little stronger than the line up here.
After all 30 odd bucks is still 30 odd bucks. Cheap or not it starts to mount up soon enough. You want to make sure you’re getting as close to the best as you can afford. We’re not sure Burn-XT is that.
There are a mountain of strong reviews for Burn-XT on sites like Amazon, which is great.
The problem being though that the real, useful, technical detail in this user feedback often doesn’t amount to a hill of beans. Plus there’s always at least a handful of poor reports in there, and without the depth of a dedicated testimonial it’s tough to know which users to believe.
These are all potentially useful ingredients on full view to the customers, so no worries about safety or hiding any facts. The only real issue is some of the dosing, which is either not at peak active levels or else may overpower some first time users.
Tweak that and add in a few more elements to round off the formula and this score would be higher.
Jacked Factory are a pretty slick looking company with a modest range of over a dozen supplements. They mainly focus on fat burners, muscle builders and cognitive products. They lay out a very impressive sounding philosophy in their literature, but we would’ve preferred to see a bit more company background info.
That said we know all their products are made in the U.S.A and are subject to strict manufacturing regulations. Arguably when it comes down to it that’s the most important thing.
Users should 1 serving of 2 caps in the morning with water then anther serving of the same 5 or 6 hours later.
They’ve really hit the post with this serving layout. That’s a convenient number of capsules, sure, but the way they’re spread out could be much more effective. Two servings that far apart means you’re inevitably going to have a slump in the middle of the day, when the first dose starts to tail off.
The best way to avoid this is to go for a booster designed for 3-4 servings a day. These regular top ups mean no dip in work rate at any point before you go to bed.
As with any fat burner that contains caffeine, you would need to be careful how much additional caffeine you consumed. At 270mg per serving we wouldn’t recommend you drinking coffee or energy drinks, let’s put it that way.
Burn-XT is available from Amazon.com from $24.99 for a one month supply.
L-Carnitine has consistently proved in scientific studies that it aids the efficient transfer of fatty acids into useable energy, meaning less excess gets stored. The overall impact this has on weight loss had come in for some question of late, but no one’s arguing it’ll give you a sizeable energy boost which can be put to good use in the gym.
Key to any fat burner’s effectiveness is it's thermogenic profile and they don’t come much more impressive than this powerful antioxidant. Green Tea’s catechins stimulate a fat burning hormone called norepinephrine, which naturally raises the body temperature, vastly increasing the number of calories burnt.
The first burner regular. Caffeine is a great choice for two reasons; firstly it speeds up your metabolism, burning through far more fat, and secondly it provides energy to help you avoid the slumps that normally come with a low calorie diet.
The 'Anhydrous' part refers to the fact that the water is removed to leave a white, crystalline powder with concentrated potency.
Cayenne is one of the best natural ways of starting thermogenesis in the body. The capsaicin in this ingredient melts away extra calories by heating the body up, then expends more again as our system tries to cool back down.
A brand name for black pepper extract included to help absorb the active ingredients.
More of an appetite suppressing profile would be nice. We favor a nice natural fibrous choice that expands in your stomach and keeps you feeling full for longer.
The energy side of things could use slight improvement. Obviously the caffeine will give you a fair kick but a selection of B vitamins is also sometimes good for slightly more gentle stamina support.
Burn-XT is like when you go somewhere for dinner and it’s perfectly nice but there’s just not enough of it. Oh and the servings are weird. Like out of a shoe or something,
A few more ingredients to round the formula off and a better serving schedule, we’d be looking at a seriously good burner, but as it is, nothing special.
