T-Max Review

Like it or not, every guys testosterone is slowly dropping by their mid-30s and with it goes his prime.  Luckily, for men not rich or brave enough to try controversial T replacement therapy, there are plenty of natural boosters available. T-Max from Bioticzone is one of these options, but how good is it?

Going on the label alone this would be a no-brainer purchase.  Higher T, better mood, more energy, improved sexual performance, who wouldn’t want all that?  Unfortunately sometimes the marketing is writing cheques the formula can’t cash, so this review is to find out if T-Max is legit.

T-Max

Weirdly, we get the names and doses of about 4 ingredients before the rest is hidden away in a proprietary blend.  This means just the names of components and their overall mix volume.

I’ll tell you right now, there’s no need for gimmicks like that.  If you’re not able to separate the good choices from the bad and be sure of active doses, it makes a full review difficult.  Still, we’ll make the best of the info we’ve got.

How Does It Work?

At a Glance

  • Tongkat Ali & Maca for libido
  • L-Arginine for blood flow
  • Ginseng Blend for sex drive & T
  • Tribulus Terrestris alledgedly to help male hormone
  • Proprietary blend of another 12 ingredients

We’ll have a look at the highlights and lowlights of this formula after the overall scores

The Scores

The Scores
Ingredients
5/10

Honestly there’s very few reliable T boosters here.  T-Max has a handful of good energy and libido boosters, but they are in amongst a huge selection of ingredients we either don’t know the dose or the point of.  Boron is the most standout ingredient from a male hormone perspective but without a solid amount we’re not confident it will help much.

Price
6/10

Below $20 may seem cheap for a booster, and it is, but we always say there’s a difference between cheap and value.  There’s so much missing from T-Max it doesn’t even rate as a good budget option.  That said, you do get a lot of ingredients for not much cash. It’s just a pity they’re mostly the wrong ones.

Trustworthiness
5/10

We’re fairly sure T-Max is safe from a health point of view, but that doesn’t automatically give it a pass as far as trust.  The formula contains stuff that either outdated, like Trib, or seems to have wandered in to the wrong supplement.  On top of all that we’re not given dosages for most of what’s in there.

Testimonials
4/10

There’s no testimonal section on the offical website so we’re left with Amazon reviews. 5 of them to be exact. They’re all glowing, but they’re only a couple of line and have none of the detail you’d want before comitting to buy.

Company
7/10

BioticZone are company based in New Jersey who currently have a huge range of products to their name.  They have every aspect of the supplement world covered.  Even though we couldn’t find a whole lot of info on this company, their website looked legit enough and they offer a 21 day money back guarantee, we found no problems with.

How Do I Take It?

Users should take one serving of 2 caps a day according to T-Max.

We can’t see this doing you much good to be honest.  Taking the quality of the formula out of things for a minute, you need several servings through the day to stay topped up.

The most successful boosters usually go for 3 or 4 servings spaced out evenly.  One serving may help for a bit, but effects will tail off.

Any T-Max Side Effects?

T-Max contains oyster extract so if you’re allergic that’s a reason (one of a few) to steer clear.

There shouldn’t be much else of worry here but with such a busy formula and so few dosages revealed, it’s impossible to say for sure.

Where Can I Get It?

Customers can find T-Max for $24.95 at amazon.com.

Ingredients – In Detail

Maca

Maca

Again, libido boosting is Macas main area of expertise.  It may also help you to achieve stronger erections according to some studies.  Not much in the way of direct T boosting though.  So 250mg could’ve been better used.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18801111

L-Arginine

This amino acid can be great for increasing blood flow and giving you extra energy.  The only problem is it’s not very easily absorbed by the body and taking it orally is pretty ineffective.  Some boosters use L-Citrulline which is transported more easily into the system where it’s converted to L-Arginine.  Without this we’re not sure what good 250mg can really do.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9809945

ginseng-thumb

Ginseng Blend

A mini hint of things to come here.  There are a couple of types of ginseng, Asian and American.  Asian is the one that can boost sex drive, blood flow and T, but we don’t know how much of the small 125mg it gets.  American ginseng helps the immune system, but that’s not essential for a booster.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15982990

The rest of the formula makes up 745mg of what’s just called Proprietary Blend. (Come on guys, at least give us the standard ridiculous name to laugh at.)

There’s a lot in here, so for quickness we’ll pick out some of the ingredients that jumped out at us.

Ashwaganda

Ashwagandha

This actually not a bad choice.  It’s an adaptogen, meaning it helps the body better cope with stress, including exercise.  In the right amount studies show it can also boost T, it’s just a pity don’t know if that amount is here.  Probably not in fact.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26609282

Tribulus Terrestris

Tribulus Terrestris

We’re pretty amazed this still makes it into boosters as often as it does to be honest.  Once championed as a great natural way to get T up, studies now show it does nothing for your hormones.  As slight rise in sex drive is the most you can hope for, so it’s really a waste

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17530942
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15994038

nettle-root-thumb

Nettle

Nettle is a great choice.  Up to 60% of the T in our system is made unusable by a protein called Sex Hormone Binding Globulin.  The beta sitosterol in nettle is great for lowering SHBG count and leaving more of the good stuff free to use.  Again the problem is the unclear dose though.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7702715

Licorice

Licorice

Very weird one here.  We’re used to the odd dud ingredient being thrown in to pad out a formula, but it’s rare you get one that actively lowers T.  But that’s what one study found.  If you take too much it will lower your male hormone.

oyster-extract-thumb

Oyster Extract

Oyster Extract is a bit of a double edged sword. It’s full of minerals great for T, especially zinc which promotes many of the building blocks for hormone production. However it obviously can’t be taken byguys with shellfish alergies, and which makes straight zinc a better choice.  Goes without saying we’ve no idea how much is here.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16648789

boron-thumb

Boron

The light at the end of the tunnel.  Boron is a great mineral because not only does it jack T up, it also lowers estrogen.  This slants your hormonal balance back in the direction it was at your peak.  However we don’t know how much is here and even if there was enough, it couldn’t carry this for mula on its own.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21129941

Tongkat Ali

This is known by a few names, including Longjack.  Studies show it can have T boosting success if returning someone with clinically low levels to normal.  If you’re looking to push past this however towards your natural peak, it’s not much help.  For this reason 400mg seems a little heavy.  It may benefit sex drive though, which is a bonus.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20141584

Anything Missing?

There’s plenty in T-Max, but they still manage to miss some of the best choices for these kind of boosters.

D-Aspartic Acid would do more for your testosterone than about half of these ingredients pu together, as would a decent amount of vitamin D.

Older guys also have to worry about the rise of estrogen, some proven anti-estrogen ingredients to help this would’ve been great.  Vitamin B6 or luteolin for example.

Overall

T-Max is a has a really weird formula. A handful of T booster (none of which we know the dose of) are thrown in amongst a blend of outdated and pointless ingredients.  Its really cheap, but short of being a freebie we’d argue still not worth it.
